We meet Wednesday mornings at 10 a.m. for one hour at Cedar Lane Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Bethesda. We also hold several social events for our members each year.
Program planning meetings are held in the spring and fall and are open to our general membership. We ONLY accept speaker ideas submitted from current members and typically sort through about 200 speaker ideas each year to select 40. We do NOT accept pitches from potential speakers.
Annual dues are currently $125 per member. This includes about 40 lectures per program year and issues of our Journals (about six per year). Members may invite guests, but each guest is limited to joining us twice per semester.
Statement of Inclusion
The Wednesday Morning Group values intelligent, informed, and vigorous discussion of topics and ideas during our weekly programs. We seek to embody the diversity that surrounds us by including members of all cultural, racial, and ability backgrounds. We all flourish when there is an active and robust diversity of perspectives amongst our members and speakers. We are committed to achieving this goal by recruiting new, diverse members and speakers. We commit to ensuring an environment that is open, welcoming, and engaged.
